Madison Kiz told how she coped with pressure on the way to a large helmet. - I believe that everything happens for a reason. I had to go through difficulties, and this prompted me to work out the pressure that I exerted on myself. From childhood, it seemed to me that if I did not win a large helmet, I would not live up to the expectations of people, and this turned into a heavy load.
But in the end, I finally began to be proud of myself and my career, regardless of whether I won a large helmet or not. I began to calmly relate to the fact that this may not happen. I realized that without a large helmet I have a good career, and I deserve to be considered a cool player. Having finally released all these thoughts, I was able to show excellent tennis and still win a large helmet.
-you have long been seen in the potential champion of a large helmet since you were 11-12 years old. Do you remember when you spoke about this for the first time and how an exciting opportunity turned into a heavy load? Tell us about the path that you had to go with this label.
-it all started quite early, probably when I was 11-12 years old. Of course, this was supposed to give confidence. I grew up, was close to this, but did not happen. And so you get older, you are already at the late stage of your career. Do you think: will it happen at all? And if not, then I did not justify the fact that everyone had seen me?
From something good, these expectations turned into a source of panic: why has this still not happened? Why still did not work? This was all the stronger on me: what if I never win it? Then I will be considered a failure? So I had to work out a lot, all because of the pressure that I have rendered on myself.
- You have long been on the tour. There was some point or a person thanks to whom you felt the way you feel now, realized that large helmets did not determine your career? Was there a particular moment?
- long therapy (grins). I believed in her. I used to follow the path of sports therapy, where it was more about the routine, about control only on what can be controlled. Everything is always in order with this, but here I seriously took up the attitude to myself and tried to be honest with myself. It was very difficult, because I did not want to be a person with problems, but it really was difficult for me.
It was important for me to get help and talk with someone, not only about tennis, but also about my attitude to myself. It was very uncomfortable for me, but you are always trying to avoid this. But I believe that if I had not taken up for this, I would not sit on our website.
