Soccer tipsters Pumas demand $5 million from Alves for breach of contract over rape case

The former Barcelona, PSG and Juventus defender was remanded in custody without bail on suspicion of raping a girl in a nightclub toilet. He faces 4 to 12 years in prison.
As soon as the Brazilian was detained on suspicion of rape, Pumas was with him.
According to UOL, the Mexican club is demanding compensation from the football player in the amount of $5 million for violating the terms of the contract.
On January 20, the day of his detention, Pumas management sent Alves an email informing him of the termination of his contract and notifying him of his desire to receive compensation.
The Mexican club refers to a clause in the treaty that provides for punishment for doping problems, for participation in any scandal that becomes public knowledge or in any act that is considered a crime under the law of the country in which it took place. In the letter, the Pumas noted that they reserve the right to contact FIFA or any other competent authority to seek compensation.
