Soccer tipsters Max Verstappen: Competitors will strive to catch up with us, but Red Bull is not standing still either

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen shared his opinion about the competitors` chances of catching up with the Austrian team in the 2023 season.


According to Verstappen, winning back a starting handicap is always difficult - citing as an example Red Bull`s pursuit of Mercedes under the previous regulations.


This sometimes happens when, when technical regulations change, some teams manage to hit the target and do everything correctly. And having hit the target and understanding what exactly you are doing, then the team only needs to do more or less minor modifications.


When the team makes a mistake and chooses the wrong concept, you have to go back and reinvent everything. In such a situation, you are constantly behind and forced to catch up.


You could see this in our example - it took Red Bull several years to finally challenge Mercedes. We didn`t have the best engine, but once we sorted that out we were able to start working on the car and eventually put everything together. But it took us several years.


Perhaps with the new regulations it will be easier for teams to catch up, but there is still a lag. At the same time, while competitors were trying to catch up with us, we also did not stand still. So we need to continue in the same spirit, and I hope that in the 2023 season we will again demonstrate a high level of performance, " Verstappen said.
