Lewis Hamilton spoke about the accident with Max Verstappen at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.


The cars of Mercedes and Red Bull collided after the restart on the seventh lap. The stewards believed that Max was to blame for the incident, and gave the champion a five-second penalty. Hamilton eventually finished second, Verstappen got to sixth position.


I didn`t have any opinion. At that moment, I thought that I would get off, because I felt something - the sensations from the back of the car became different. The only thing in my head was that because of this, the team would miss the double.


I left on the grass, returned to the track and thought only about how to still bring the team an incredible result. Again, the main thing is not how you fall, but how you get up. Proud of the work we all have done, " said the Briton.


Hamilton commented on the suggestion that Verstappen has a special relationship with him:


I am absolutely not worried. In my opinion, when you have success and certain statistics, you become a target in some way, this is natural. But everything is fine - nothing that I would not have encountered before.
